Feeling a bit down lately and can not seem to shake it?
It might be time to seek help from a licensed professional. My services are personalized to suit everyone’s needs. All circumstances from major to minor, life adjustments to traumatic experiences are valid and legitimate reasons for seeking therapy.
Living with unprocessed trauma?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy treatment that is designed to alleviate distress associated with traumatic memories. Upon completion of treatment with EMDR therapy, the client reports relief from distress, negative beliefs, and physiological arousal. During EMDR therapy the client works through emotionally disturbing material with the use of directed lateral eye movements, hand-tapping, and/or audio stimulation (Shapiro, 1991).
In my therapy sessions, we’ll work to solve current problems and improve positive thinking and behavior. I will help you “re-frame” your reactions and provide you with valuable tools to cope with life’s obstacles. I’m confident you’ll find my personalized Couples Counseling beneficial and inspirational. Do you feel your child struggling? Are you looking for support and strategies on how to work on your emotional connection with your child?
As a Registered Play Therapist - Supervisor, I collaborate with you to explore strategies and interventions that allow your relationship with your child to flourish beyond have a "compliant" child. We look at the the whole child, the child's environment and other factors unique to each child's individual disposition, strengths, challenges, and family dynamics.
Are you committed to excellence and high ethical standards in counseling as a therapist?
I would love to help you become a confident and well-equipped counseling professional. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Missouri, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Kansas, and a Registered Play Therapist - Supervisor (RPT-S), I provide supervision for those pursuing their clinical licensure or Play Therapy licensure, in diverse settings, via telebehavioral health platforms.
My approach is rooted in a person - centered, relational framework and trauma informed care.
Understanding the influence of practice setting challenges, I provide LPC candidates with a variety of practical strategies and focus on the quality of the relationship the counselor has with the client and any obstacles to empathy and mindfulness. From there, I invite counselors to listen deeply to clients and their stories for implicit strengths, to practice new skills through role-play, and to trust their intuition more fully.
